Comments:
cover has a fold across lower rear sides, diagonally, at the 12" diameter. cover flap also has wear on top, and a stain on lower front left corner. EMI inner included that has Beatles Sgt. Pepper on it. The inner is hand dated 1/11/69. disc has been ultrasonically cleaned. sounds fantastic!
Notes:
Third pressing, summer through November 1969. 'Corrected matrix' side 1, possibly unique to this pressing run 'YEX 14[crossed out 3 with2-1' Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. laminated front and back cover, with small “stereo” on front gatefold cover. Inside flipback. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter. No “Sold in U.K. subject…” text. Discs came in either plain white sleeve or EMI LP advertising inner, including Beatles 'Revolver' LP which had, of course, been released by the time this repressing was made. “Recording First Published 1964″ now changed to (p) 1964. The original LP sleeve and the label lists Track 7 Side 1 as "Kansas City" (Lieber-Stoller). After the attorneys for Venice Music complained, the record label was revised to read: "Medley: (a) Kansas City (Leiber/Stoller) (P)1964 Macmelodies Ltd./KPM. (b) Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey (Penniman) Venice Mus. Ltd. (P)1964."
